Users' comfort requirements with regard to sound insulation have generally increased in the past years. Since the DIN values only fulfil minimum requirements, Lignotrend has already adapted its component superstructures to improved noise protection standards.
The sound insulation levels from the guideline "Sound insulation in timber construction: principles and preliminary measurement", which is published by the Timber Information Service, are suitable as target values:
- BASIS as a minimum requirement according to DIN 4109,
- BASIS+ for increased sound insulation, and
- KOMFORT, the highest level, which includes sensitive frequency ranges
that DIN has omitted up to now
With regard to the sound insulation capacities of its ceiling, roof and wall components, Lignotrend orientates itself to the KOMFORT level and strives to attain the values that apply there. High-quality timber architecture can thus also offer the best possible sound insulation.
